Conceiving writing as a means of creation implies paying greater attention to students' capacity for invention, and to develop this capacity it is essential to foster creativity in the classroom. This is what we know today as creative writing. A set of resources and techniques that help writers put their ideas in order to express themselves in writing through a very important element: creativity.

Several authors defend the school as the most influential and responsible for promoting creativity in children. The current situation is that teachers lack the resources to incorporate writing as an instrument of reflection and the actual law limits schools to running away from using writing as a strictly academic instrument. Therefore, this website has been created from an end-of-grade paper that aims to provide teachers with a set of resources and activities to encourage creative writing in the classroom. In addition, some activities to do outside the classroom are included, as creativity can also be developed both inside and outside the academic setting.

Some of the chosen activities are adapted from an optional course I took at the Complutense University in my third year of my Primary Education degree, called 'Creative Writing and Reading'. Here I learned the importance of promoting creativity in the classroom as well as various techniques and activities to do so. Further ideas came from books such as "The grammar of fantasy" by Gianni Rodari and other books that are collect in the 'resources' section of this website as well as my own ideas.
