This activity also works as an introduction to creative writing. Furthermore, it helps to learn about the variety of resources we can use to help us be creative. The teacher picks up an object (e.g. a pen) and explains to the students that one by one they will tell what object is it without saying what it really is: a pen. For example, the teacher begins by saying: "What is this?; This is an airplane". Then, he or she hands it to a student and adds "This is a flying brush", gives it to the next person and so on. After reading some examples, the teacher asks students the following question: What is creativity? Then, the teacher brainstorms some ideas with the students and ask them to write down a word which remembers them of creativity. Then, students receive a colour card and they are asked to write down that word in a creative way. Together they create a mural which would be displayed in the classroom.
